This will be a monthly membership that is geared towards people who have taken at least 1 class at Columbia Clay. It is uninstructed time to practice the things you have learned in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

  • You will have one designated shelf space.

  • You will have one 23”x13” and about 5” tall, shelf for bisque

  • You will have one 23”x13” and about 5” tall, shelf for glaze

You can use the studio glazes for the amount described above.

Studio Firing Policy

  • Work placed on the bisque or glaze shelves will be fired when kiln shelves are full. Firing is included during your month of enrollment.

  • Any work that is on the firing shelves before the end of your enrollment period will be included, even if it has not yet been fired.

  • Work left unfinished or not placed on the shelves before your enrollment ends will not be fired and will require an additional firing fee if you would like it completed. Students are responsible for finishing and preparing their work for firing within their enrollment period.

  1. Kiln Cost for additional work:

    On average, I do 2-3 bisque firings a month and 2-3 glaze firings.

    The average height of work is about 5.5” tall for work

  2. A kiln shelf is 26”x13”

    Per firing:

     ½ shelf : $40

    Full Shelf (2 ½ shelves): $70

    Full Kiln: $150

    This includes the loading and unloading, firing time, electricity and wear and tear on the kiln and shelves.

    Make sure your clay is the appropriate clay (mid-fire cone 5-6)

    Make sure your glazes are ¼” up from the foot.

    Make sure your bottoms are wiped clean.

    Make sure you put your work on a cookie.

Saturday Open Studio 9:30am-2pm and Class from 10-12:30 (you are welcome to come in if there is a wheel available, however there is table space)
