Beginning/ Mixed Level Throwing Saturdays 10am-12:30pm (Starts on Saturday 5/30 meets 6 times)
This is a great class for someone who has little to no experience with clay. The beginning students will learn the sequential steps in throwing centering, opening, and pulling a wall to make cylinders, bowls, round vessels and trimming the forms. You will also learn how to apply glazes, basic chemistry, and how to make conscious aesthetic choices. You will make about 10ish vessels.
The intermediate students will start with larger amounts of clay, plates and a lidded form. You will continue to learn about aesthetic choices and make informed glaze decisions. You will make a total of 10ish vessels.
This will be an 6 week course meeting 2 and a half hours per week, 12.5lbs of clay, basic studio tools and glazes will be provided. As well as access to the open studio during your 6 week session so you can practice. Open studio times are uninstructed and a great time to let your hair down and set the peddle to the metal.
Please note, this class does require cleaning your workspace and whatever you used in the studio. Also, the block of clay you will be given weighs 12.5lbs. Please let me know if you need any assistance prior to starting the class.
Class starts on Saturday May 30, 2026 from 10-12:30pm (We will skip July 4th)
(5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20, 6/27 and 7/11)
