Intermediate Hand-Building & Wheel Throwing

This class is designed for students with some experience in hand-building or wheel throwing who are ready to expand their skills through functional forms and surface design.

Over this 6-week course, you’ll create lidded forms and a composite piece while exploring form, function, and decorative surface treatments. Using a variety of construction methods, you’ll develop more complex forms, add embellishments, and experiment with surface techniques to strengthen your skills and creative voice.

Class Details

  • Fridays: 9:00–11:30 AM

  • Dates: August 28, September 4, 11, 18, 25, and October 2

  • 6-week course

  • 25 lbs. of clay included

  • Basic studio tools and glazes provided

  • Open studio access throughout the session

  • Already have a bag of approved clay? Receive a $15 discount on tuition.

Open studio hours are uninstructed and offer time to practice, experiment, and continue working on class projects outside of scheduled class hours.

Students are responsible for cleaning their workspace and any tools or equipment used during class and open studio. If you need assistance transporting or handling your 25 lb. bag of clay, please let me know before class begins.

Any refunds issued are subject to a 10% processing fee.

If I need to miss a class due to illness, I will schedule a make-up session.

If the class does not fill, we reserve the right to cancel and give you a refund.
