Glaze and Surface Design Class (Sundays from 9:30-12pm Starts on 9/13)

$180.00

Unlock the full potential of ceramic surfaces in this hands-on glazing class! If you’ve ever wanted to move beyond basic glazing and learn how to create rich, expressive, and visually captivating surfaces, this class is for you.

Over three weeks, you’ll explore underglaze and glaze techniques while experimenting with realism, trompe l’œil, texture, illusionary space, image transfers, carving, additive techniques, and layered surface development. We’ll work on both greenware and bisque-fired tiles, giving you the opportunity to discover how different materials and techniques interact at each stage of the ceramic process.

Glazing is one of my specialties, and I’ll share the techniques, demonstrations, and problem-solving strategies I’ve developed over years of making and teaching ceramics. Whether you’re looking to create painterly imagery, convincing textures, or layered surfaces, you’ll leave with new skills, greater confidence, and a wealth of ideas to apply to your own work, as well as some super cool tiles/ paintings!.

This class is packed with information, demonstrations, and hands-on exploration, making it a valuable learning experience for anyone eager to take their ceramic surfaces to the next level.

When: Sundays, 9:30 AM–12:00 PM (September 13, 20, and 27)

Materials: All materials are provided, including tiles, underglazes, glazes, and all necessary supplies.
